Stellenbosch Golf Club has been officially announced as the host venue for the 115th Investec South African Open, scheduled to take place at the end of February 2026. This prestigious national championship, co-sanctioned by the Sunshine Tour and the DP World Tour, will return to the picturesque Cape’s fourth oldest golf club for the first time since 1999. During its last visit, local golfing icon David Frost claimed victory at the course he was intimately familiar with, having grown up caddying for his father there.

Peta Dixon, Investec’s Head of Sponsorships, highlighted the organization’s commitment to showcasing South African professional golf across the country, giving a wide audience the chance to experience the rich history of this championship. With deep-rooted connections to the Western Cape that date back to 1980, Investec is thrilled to bring the Open back to Stellenbosch, a region that houses several of its offices.

Chris van der Merwe, General Manager of Stellenbosch Golf Club, expressed immense pride and excitement over the club’s selection. He described the event as a golden opportunity to highlight both the beauty of Stellenbosch and the Cape winelands to international audiences. The club, which has a storied history of nurturing South African golfing talent, is eager to continue this legacy by hosting the upcoming tournament. Past and present golfing stars from the club include not only David Frost but also current players like Justin Harding and Keenan Davidse.

The return of the Investec South African Open to Stellenbosch Golf Club is anticipated to be a grand event, accentuating the rich traditions of South African golf while celebrating the stunning landscapes of the region. This event serves as a pivotal moment in both the club’s and Investec’s history, promising an exciting installment in the timeline of this celebrated championship.
